My workshop/man cave

My workshop 24′×24′, based around my table saw that is embedded in a 6′×6′ workbench. It is fairly well equipped with hand and power tools as well as air around the shop, it has separate electrical outlets every 4’ around the perimeter. The two windows face south, and the building is R2000 constructed for the cold winters we have here. Many projects have passed thru the doors over the years, but it’s the times spent building with my children that are the best things about the “shop”

Definitely looks like one could be cozy there. A great layout. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all. Right now the shop is full of a RC airplane that I am build from scratch with only spare parts and an idea, hoping my plan less design will fly….

I love the windows!

You got a really nice shop with lots of space.
What’s the secret for keeping it so clean?
Is that epoxy covered floor?

As the model airplane, I have a friend who is a fanatic. He has built several.

I usually clean up before the end of everyday, if you get into that habit the shop is never far from spotless. In between projects I paint the work surfaces and floor. That helps keep things looking good. It’s easy to do good work if everything is kept clean and bright.

The floor is just grey floor paint with donations. 2 times a year I post on Facebook that I am needing used and leftover paint. Any white grey black or blue will do. I mix it up in a 5 gal bucket and add my own grey or white to match as close as I can to the existing colour. This way I can recycle people’s old unused paints. The only other stipulation is that it must be oil paint. Into the mixture I add a few things to make it semi gloss, low odour, fast drying, and enamel. My grandfather taught me how to do this as he was a painter for 50 years.

My shop is a lot smaller but making saw dust is what it is all about.
