Arts and crafts style clock

I made this from a knob of cherry. It was difficult but it came out ok. It’s a Christmas gift for the rabbbit. Sshh…don’t tell her. I hand cut the crotch in half, planed and sliced, bandsaws, hand saws, table saws and my desperate lack of precision

I’m happy with it, but wish it was tighter.

Some more details for anyone interested. First, she loves it. There 36 pieces of wood. Each piece has a tenon, a dado, a tongue or a groove and they are all quite small. The glue up was hilarious and done in stages, sides, top, front, etc.

The face is from a guy whose clockmaker Dad passed away and these were in his collection of bits, the mechanism is just a cheap quartz movement off Ebay. The finish is about 6 or 7 coats of Tung oil, rubbed with steel wool and it’s a lovely soft, almost waxy finish to touch.

I complain but to be honest, quite happy with it.
