I saw this project: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/51352 and I liked it.
I also had saved some beams and 2×4 from a mezzanine that got tore down at work.
The idea was to use recycled material.
I learned a ton during this build. There has been a lot of frustration as well.
I am happy with the way it came out.
The rest is all in the blogs:http://woodworkingweb.com/entries/118-intro
If you have any extra question please let me know.
I will answer as soon as I can as I will be travelling for the next 2 weeks.
Dimensions: 36″ × 70.5 X 30.5" (a little odd dimensions but had to trim a little)
Lumber: recycled Douglas fir, left over redwood and some redwood purchased at Lowes for the top.
If I have to do it again I will use cedar
Finish: left over helmsman spar urethane. Brushed on.
I will be installing cups on the bottom of the legs so that water does not wick in the legs.
I tried to account for wood movement as much as I could. If I forgot some, please let me know as this is mostly new to me.
