Dovetailed toy chest

Happy new year gang
Here’s a dovetailed chest made for my grandson, I got started later than I wanted so I just grabbed some cheap pine I had sitting around because I needed something quick,it only took a couple days and turned out pretty fair and my son and grandson liked it.I like to use better material but my justification was that it’s probably going to get beat up anyway. Funny how we sometimes justify things. The name plaque is the first time I ever carved letters using traditional carving tools, not as perfect as I’d like but as I do more letter carving I hope it will improve in the future.
Have a super day everyone

I figured you must have gotten a CNC for Christmas . . . your lettering looks great! The chest came out really good, too. Are those hand-cut dovetails? I wish I could turn out something that nice in “just a couple of days.”

Thank you , The dovetails are made with a router and jig .
