Steampunk Coffee Table

I made the frame out of mild steel and attached antique cart wheels on one end and antique steel casters on the other. I mounted the cart wheels so that they would protrude up through the bottom surface which adds visual appeal. I used reclaimed hardwood pallet boards for the surfaces and coated them with eight coats of gloss polyurethane. It is a heavy, durable, easily movable table. I’m proud of this one. It’s simple, functional and beautiful.

Justin,

While steampunk is not my choice, you have certainly “nailed” it! Admirers of steampunk would be pleased.

Beautifully done Justin.

Working with pallets is tough. I tried it once. You don’t get a lot of usable material, it’s full of nails (and nail holes) and it’s dirty as can be. BUT, you can find really beautiful exotic wood from it. You need to be creative to use it. Good job on this project.

Really an eye catcher Justin. Such a nice contrast with the black metal and wood.
