Something for the weekend...

Hi Guys, been away for a while. I have been busy with my new job and not in the workshop at all, except for a couple of weekends.
So this is a girlie table for my little girl, well not that little anymore. My first foray into the world of cabriole legs, done on the bandsaw with the aid of some painters tape to hold all the cut pieces together. The top inner radii on the legs is the same as the front roller on my belt sander, just right imo. The rest of the shaping done with a spokeshave, shoulder plane, sandpaper and elbow grease. Made my first scratchstock as well for the bead on the bottom of the drawer fronts..
Poplar and leftovers, wavy laminated drawer fronts.
This job was testing, but I gained a lot from it. Now I’d better think about a mirror to match.

Doing the best I can with what I've got

Very nice Rennners. Lucky young lady. I like the plain white finish. Classic.

We are on somewhat parallel courses it seems. I am just finishing up my first cabriole leg project as well. I did bandsaw (masking tape), and finished with a card scraper. I hope you had as much fun with it as I did. That’s a sweet table. Can’t wait to see the mirror ……. carved? :-)

That’s a great-looking table. Your cabrioles turned out super.

My first set of cabriole legs was my last set! It was too much work. It was a little stand for my folks’ heater. (Mom didn’t want it to set directly on the carpeting.) As you can see, I quit after just two and used straight legs in the back.

They don’t have that same sleek appearance of your table’s longer legs.
