The Dibello Bed

This Queen bed in Walnut was built during my first year of apprenticeship in Furniture making a year ago. My goal for the first year was to enter a piece (and have it accepted) in the Texas Furniture Makes Show in Kerrville, TX. I was elated to hear it was accepted, and later, even more elated to win the Best Apprentice award, and then astonished to receive a Judges Special Award, which they created upon discovering that I was a first year apprentice. To receive that level of validation was the best confirmation that I was on the right path.

Wolf (& Rabbit!) ...

stunning. I hereby nominate you for most ambitious gluer upper ever! How many clamps did that take?

lanwater ...

Very nice.
Impressive display of clamps :)

Manitario ...

Spectacular! How did you get the finish so perfect in the small lattice spaces?

Richforever ...

Definitely on the right path! Well done! (Some of us would be scared of that many clamps.)

CindyG ...

Thank you all so much! I really cannot remember how many clamps it took- let’s just call it " a LOT!" Manitario, the grid pieces were pre-finished on the solid outside surfaces before they were glued up, exactly for that reason!
