Trojan is a chess box that takes the shape of the knight in that game. Its cylindrical part is built like a castle made of two halves joined together to work as a hinge around unseen pin in the back and they entwine in the front when you close the box, so closely, you hardly see the shutting line, as in photo # 1. Inside, you see six shelves enough to take all the pieces.
The horse head on the top is my very first carving creation ever.It consumed most of the time and I carved it without proper carving tools, with carpenter chisels, kitchen knives and files. Also, I made the carriage as tough as possible to match the time of Trojan story. I made the board but I bought the chess pieces.
THE TIME YOU ENJOY WASTING IS NOT WASTED TIME.

Great imagination Sam.
Not such a bad job on the carving either especially without carving tools and a first try. The feel of the piece fits the age of Troy nicely.
I have to admit I was slightly apprehensive to open this project. ….“Trojan” and then a not so slightly phallic image in the thumbnail….but WELL DONE…that is a very cool project. I still can’t see the join.
Nice carving and great replica of the trojan. Very detailed work.
Very nice work Sam
lanwater ...
That’s very complex.
Hardly saw the line. If you did not mention, I wouldn’t have spotted it.
Great work.
