If you decide to build this in solid oak, you should post a blog on the build. I for one would love to follow along as it is built. My great grandfather built the almost same set at the beginning of the 1900’s. It is still in use today.

Hi Thorian. The Morris Chair has been finished. I recently joined this forum. The sketch style picture is the result of my receiving a new iPad from my wife and I’ve been having fun with all the artsy features.

One thing I didn’t mention in the post is that the leather is recycled leather, not vinyl. Nice feel and finish.

Sweet, using something again, repurposing makes it even better! Do you have any photos? The one we have in the family has green leather. 2 years ago I replaced the arms as a dog had chewed / splintered the ends where your hands go. I still have the old arms and plan to repurpose the oak one day.

I love the chair and the arty sketch too, but it would be nice to see a regular photo of it too in addition. Regardless, it looks very well built.
