Despite the issues they create I love curves. Be it braces on a timber frame, top rails on gates or a plinth a nice curve works wonders and these top rails are really sexy.
They are laminations joined using a 22mm bridal joint and cascamite glue from solid 70mm thick sections of Idigbo.
I don’t normally use Idigbo as I hate it it’s horrible to work but the grain and colour match the clients plastic windows really well. You can see the silica in the surface of this stuff it almost looks metallic.
These gate will have boards in the bottom section and steel bars at top.
