My fascination with wood started about 65 year back with my great grandmother’s lion head rocking chair. I love a challenge and have been turning now on my ShopSmith for just over two years. Our 30+ year old house I built all the cabinets and made the chandelier from a chunk of fire wood. When the glass cutter said one cannot make a perfectly symmetrical multi sided figure for a porthole window, I took it on and within half hour I had the cuts planned. It had no other choice but to be perfect. Studied mechanics NADC, served and worked electronics but love making sawdust. I made my first tool out of wood @ age 12 and have it on display In my shop. I was introduced to carving about 1975 and find it very relaxing. I have found the imagination is the only limitation with wood carving and designing.
